Varsity Wires Announces 2026 CFISD Football Broadcast Schedule

CYPRESS, Texas — Varsity Wires has unveiled its planned 2026 football broadcast schedule, featuring a 31-game slate of Cypress-Fairbanks ISD varsity football coverage on the Varsity Wires Radio Network.

Games will be distributed across Varsity Wires platforms throughout the season, including the Varsity Wires YouTube channel and embedded live coverage on VarsityWires.com, giving fans multiple ways to follow CFISD football each week.

Coverage begins Saturday, August 29, with a Week 1 doubleheader featuring Cy Springs against College Station at Cy-Fair FCU Stadium and Cy-Fair against Tomball Memorial at Pridgeon Stadium.

From there, the Varsity Wires Radio Network will provide coverage every week through the conclusion of the regular season in early November.

“We wanted to build a schedule that represented the district as a whole while also making sure we were putting our audience at the games that could have the biggest impact throughout the season,” said Jordan Smith, Owner/Executive Producer of Varsity Wires. “That means protecting homecomings, making room for rivalry games, highlighting programs coming off playoff seasons and giving ourselves flexibility late in the year when playoff races begin to take shape.”

CFISD Matchups Eligible for GameDay Houston Selection

Throughout the 2026 season, games on the Varsity Wires schedule will also be eligible for selection as weekly on-site editions of GameDay Houston, Houston Sports Live’s football pregame show.

GameDay Houston locations will be selected throughout the season based on factors including matchup quality, rivalry significance, homecomings, developing storylines and potential postseason implications.

That structure allows Varsity Wires coverage to remain connected to the broader Houston Sports Live football slate while preserving the flexibility to place GameDay Houston at the most compelling available matchup each week.

GameDay Houston selections will be announced separately.

Coverage Across the District

The 2026 schedule was designed to provide broad representation throughout CFISD while emphasizing games with strong competitive, rivalry or postseason significance. All homecoming games included on the selected slate have been guaranteed for broadcast coverage.

District play begins in Week 4 for both CFISD districts represented on the schedule, with the final three weeks of the regular season designated as flex weeks. Those flex weeks will allow Varsity Wires to adjust coverage if developing playoff races create a matchup with greater postseason significance.

Among the highlighted regular-season matchups are Cy Ranch against Bridgeland, Cy-Fair against Cy Creek, Bridgeland against Cy Park, Cy Ridge against Cy Woods and the Week 11 matchup between Cy Woods and Cy Falls.

Built for a Full Season of CFISD Football

The Varsity Wires Radio Network will provide live game coverage throughout the 2026 season, supported by additional in-game updates, stories, highlights and other digital coverage across Varsity Wires platforms.

The 2026 football schedule represents another step in the growth of Varsity Wires as a dedicated destination for CFISD athletics.

“This is about more than showing up on Friday night and broadcasting a game,” Smith said. “We want Varsity Wires to become something CFISD athletes, coaches, schools and fans can follow throughout the entire season. The broadcast schedule is the foundation, but the goal is to tell the stories around these programs every week.”

Fans will be able to follow Varsity Wires Radio Network broadcasts on the Varsity Wires YouTube channel and through embedded live coverage on VarsityWires.com, along with additional coverage across Varsity Wires digital platforms.
